Happy Thanksgiving!

We went to see Gramps today. He was alert and awake. As were were leaving, they were getting ready for their Thanksgiving feast. I baked a pumpkin pie for everyone.
Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! We are so thankful to have our Gramps closeby, and thankful for each of you!

A Visit from Debbie 11/15/08

I spent some time Friday morning with Franklin and he was so alert. Never once did he say he was sleepy. We talked about anything and everything he wanted to talk about. I asked him if he thought we could dance and he said yes!!!!!. I was so excited to see how alert he was the whole time I was there. His color looked so good. I told him he looked bright and bushy tailed, of course he just laughed. Melody, he did tell me one of your children were getting married. I asked him are you sure it is one of Melody's children and he said yes soon.He really felt good. He did say all the people that work there at the home was real good to him. I so enjoyed our visit and Franklin appreciates anyone who comes and visits him. He told me to be sure to come back and he said I know you will be back.
Here are some pictures we took yesterday.

Friday Visit 11/7/08

Dave-O and I went to see Gramps today. His nurse Gayle was there clipping his fingernails while he was sort of asleep. It was lunchtime, so we got him to the table---it was enchilada day! Gramps seemed pretty tired and moved extra slow today, so I fed him his lunch and he ate all of the enchiladas. Afterwards he had some ice cream.

Erica was helping as usual...so so sweet. Liz the home health nurse, not Gramps' nurse, was there. She had brought little Hershey bars for everyone today which they all ate with their ice cream. Gramps got a flu shot today, too. He didn't even flinch.

He was pretty quiet today. I tried asking him about the election, but he just nodded his head. At the end of lunch, his hospice helper showed up (I think her name was Margaret?) to help give him a shower.

Here are the pics from today!

Goldie (this isn't the best picture of her). She's so funny b/c she knows Dave-O and right away asked him to get her tape recorder ready so that she could sit in her chair and listen after lunch...Dave-O the tape recorder Man!
